Benq

Seen in Bucharest 2013

There is also a SERM tag on the left side. I just say it because there is a really nice video with an ERPS, SERM wholecar.

You can also see Benq and SERM in one of the 1UP videos where they are coloring some metros together with One United Power from Berlin. - Graffiti connects!

Have fun while watching!

Marc Ecko's Getting Up - contents under pressure

Maybe you know what Marc Ecko's Getting UP is. It's a game from February 2006. It's about an amateur graffiti artist known as "Trane". He uses graffiti as a way to protest against the city of "New Radius" where freedom of expression is suppressed by the government.
The game play is pretty easy to understand. It's set up as a non-linear fighting game but the story progresses in a linear fashion. That means you don't have to complete any side missions as in Grand Theft Auto.
I enjoyed the game when I played it 7 years ago!

Here you can watch the gametailer.

Banksy's "Flower Girl" - SALE

"Flower Girl" is the name of an artwork made by the British Street Art artist Banksy. It's going to be sold in December.
This artwork was sprayed in year 2008, on a wall of a filling station, by Banksy. It shows a girl picking a flower whose bloom is a camera. Michael Doyle form "Julien's Auctions" classyfies this artwork as a sociocritical thing like most of Banksy's illustrations.

The auctioneer expects about 115 and 225 thousand euro

How to: Create a Stencil Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of "How to: Create a Stencil".
Last time I showed you how you can make the artwork with GIMP.

After you did that you have to print your motive.

1. Now you have to glue it on something more stable because just the paper will soak through fast while you use it. For example you can use plastic or carton. I took the back of a writing pad.

2. The next step is cutting it out. But be aware of what you'r cutting out! You have to cut out everything you want to see later on the wall. So often it's everything "black" on the paper.

3. When you are done with that take your spray can and go somewhere to test the new stencil. Preferably a legal place ;)

Have Fun!

My Idea

Maybe you wonder how I got the idea to make such pictures.
When I graduated school we had to make an exhibition and there was no specification what kind of art we choose. Because I ever wanted to make something with spray paint in class I decided to use it now. A graffiti piece was to big... so I mixed Streetart with a nice colored background.
After some time of thinking I got a motive so I started to work.

Damaged Rough - Wholecar

Damaged Rough is a Rapper from Münster in Germany. His song "Wholecar" inspired me when I started to be interested in graffiti. The lyrics are German, but maybe you can understand some things so that you can guess what he is saying. Have fun.

Writer's Lung

Hm.. hope my lung looks like the third one..

Night vision

"Night vision" is the youngest picture. I made it together with my girlfriend.

Wholetrain the Movie

Wholetrain is the first german cine film about graffiti.
Its about two crews (KSB - Keep steel burning and ATL - Above the law). These two crews are fighting because both want to be the best crew of their city. Sometimes with violence, sometimes with creativity.
I really enjoed watching this film!
Here you can watch the trailer:

Good Evening

"Good evening" Thats the name of the first picture I made.
It's on a 40x60cm canvas. I created it with different spraypaint colours and some stencils. It shows my hometown in sunset.

Good evening

What is graffiti?

Before I can start writing about graffiti I have to explain what graffiti is.
Therefore I found a nice definition at "www.wikipedia.org" because my English skills aren't good enough to explane it by myself.

"Graffiti are writing or drawings that have been scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place. Graffiti ranges from simple written words to elaborate wall paintings, and it has existed since ancient times, with examples dating back to Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and the Roman Empire.
In modern times, paint, particularly spray paint, and marker pens have become the most commonly used graffiti materials. In most countries, marking or painting property without the property owner's consent is considered defacement and vandalism, which is a punishable crime."

How I came to graffiti.

I don’t remember when I started to be interested in graffiti, it must have been 4 or 5 years ago but suddenly I realized that there are so many tags and graffiti pieces on my way to school. I tried to decode all these names and after some time I decided to do it by myself.

The first tries were really bad, but after some days of busy trying I got better and better. (had enough time in school)

Why this blog?

Hello,
my name is Max and I'm 19 years old. I come from germany and I'm interested in all kind of music, art and sport.
I created this blog to present my art to the world and inform you about graffiti. What I make isn’t pure graffiti. It’s a mix of free hand spraying and some street-art techniques. I will comment on that later more in detail.
Because I don’t want you to get bored by my art I’m also going to give some tips/guides how to draw and spray graffiti, what graffiti films are nice, talk about street-art and other forms of graffiti.
